Welcome to Flex Code Coaching!  My name is Cody Hornsby and I will be your coach. It is my goal and passion to share my knowledge, experience, and education with you as you embark on your new journey. There will be challenges, setbacks and obstacles to overcome, but together we can break through these barriers/plateaus and keep you on the path to reaching your ultimate short and long term goals. With consistency comes results.

Cody’s passion for the health and wellness industry started back in 2009 when he weighed 135lbs as a freshman at Berea College where he studied Kinesiology and Rehabilitation science while playing basketball. He knew that if he wanted to make a great impact as a college athlete he needed to be bigger, faster and stronger. Fast forward 4 years and finished his college basketball career at 165lbs, started all 4 years and was inducted into the 1,000 point club while finishing his bachelors in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation science.

He then advanced his degree and attended the University of Hawaii-Manoa where he graduated with a Masters of Science in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation science and becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength and Condition Specialist and Tactical Strength and Conditioning-Facilitator in 2011.

Since then he has worked with Pittsburgh University Football, Marshall University Football, Ohio State Men’s Basketball, University of Hawaii Women’s Soccer and Men’s Basketball, Hawaii Pacific University Baseball, Women’s Soccer and Cheer/Dance and  The United States Navy and Marines at Pearl Harbor focusing on rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and sports performance. 

His main focus over the last 9 years has been on lifestyle and bodybuilding athletes. Cody has been competing in bodybuilding since 2014 and has coached numerous athletes to maximizing their potential both on and off of the stage. He aims to bring a thoughtful and measured approach with health and longevity always being the number one focus.

Expectations of the Athlete

  •  Meet all required daily metrics assigned
  •  Check-in on time every week with all data required
  •  Keep open communication while being 100% honest about hitting the metrics assigned
  •  Set short-term and long-term goals
  • Understand that in order to get the desired outcomes you must adhere to the plan 100% 

Expectations of the coach

  •  Have check-ins completed within 48 hours after submission
  •  Educate athletes on why changes were or were not made
  •  Provide feedback for exercise form and technique
  •  Assign meal plans, cardio, health supplementation, sleep, water, and step metrics per individual goals
  •  Be available for questions or concerns related to the plan 
  • Provide problem-solving and plan changes based on feedback from the athlete
  • Make sure athletes are on track to hit their given goals
